Francization
The Government of Québec offers free French courses to all persons 16 years of age and older who are living in Québec, who are not subject to mandatory school attendance and who wish to receive French learning services, as well as to persons who are planning to settle in Québec.
French courses for immigrants are for you if you meet all of the following conditions:
- Your place of birth is outside of Canada
- You are 16 or older
- You live in Québec
French courses are free. You have no admission or tuition fees to pay.
Full-time French courses
Full-time French courses allow you to learn French quickly and to accelerate your integration in Québec. The courses are for students at the beginner and intermediate levels.
Full-time courses are given:
- In class or online, if needed
- 5 days a week
- Monday to Friday
- 30 hours per week
- The course duration is 11 weeks
The Québec government offers financial assistance to encourage you to take full-time courses. You may be eligible to receive this assistance for course participation and to help cover fees for childcare or for the care of disabled dependents.

Part-time French courses
Part-time in-class French courses allow you to learn French for only a few hours a week. Courses are for beginners and intermediates.
Part-time courses are given:
- In class
- During the evening, from 6 pm to 9 pm
- Weekdays (Monday to Wednesday or Monday to Thursday)
- The number of hours per week may vary from 9 to 12 hours
You can choose the schedule that works best for you when you apply for admission. The course duration is 11 weeks.

Specialized French courses by field of employment
These courses will allow you to improve your French in a specific field of employment, whether for work or study.
Specialized French courses are available in the following fields of employment:
- Administration, Law and Business
- Childhood education
- Engineering and Applied Sciences
- Health
- Nursing
The levels of specialized French courses vary according to the field of employment. They generally range from intermediate to advance.
These specialized courses are given:
- Online
- During the evening, from 6 pm to 9 pm
- 2 times per week (Monday and Wednesday OR Tuesday and Thursday)
- The course duration is 11 weeks
